Meditation

I began meditation around eleven years of age and practiced Zen and Tibetan Buddhist techniques for a number of years until I became a teacher of Transcendental Meditation under the direct guidance of it's founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, finalizing my training in March of 1972. In 1973 I became his personal assistant for a few months and in subsequent years received additional instruction and teachings. I have spent several decades studying Vedic literature, Buddhist teachings, philosophy and religion. As a personal choice I am no longer associated with the TM organization.

It is from the above background that I offer personalized meditation instruction, meditation techniques, I have taught thousands students and engage personally with each, this traditional teaching method helps maximize the opportunity for spiritual growth. No belief or religious systems are involved. It may be helpful to watch my Buddha at the Gas Pump interview prior to contacting me.

It is my feeling that we are at a critical moment in time, in the midst of great change and possibility. Climate, social, and political change are laying the seeds for our worlds future. The outcome of which is up to us. If we truly want to secure a bright and positive future then it is, in my opinion, imperative to raise the general level of consciousness for all human-beings as quickly as possible. Personally, as  much as I enjoy teaching meditation and helping others, I am not attached to the "how" of that. What is important is that the student finds the right person to work with. This is why I have a page of this website listing a few teachers that I highly respect and are qualified to help most anyone in learning meditation. 

I also encourage everyone to investigate whatever teaching they choose to learn from, do research to be sure you are not joining a cult or organizations that may only be looking to exploit people for money or personal gain. The Freedom of Mind Resource Center is a good website for this.
